When I hung these skeins outside to dry I noticed they matched the sky perfectly, thus the name. I am toying with the idea of having my advent calendar be a huge gradient or ombre or fade set this year. Dyeing these was an experiment to see how I'd do it.
This listing includes 5 mini skeins, one complete gradient set. Each mini skein is 24 yards, so the listing is for 120 yards total. With two sets you could fade from dark to light and back to dark, or visa versa.
Color: shades of indigo blue
Yards: +\- 24 (10 grams) X 5 skeins = +/-120 yards
Weight: Percy DK
Fiber: 75% superwash merino, 25% nylon
Care instructions: Superwash wool will not felt in a washing machine (do NOT dry in a dryer). However, I still suggest hand washing, lay flat and shape to dry.
NOTE: Most tap water has a higher than desirable (for hand-dyed wool) pH level. You can neutralize this by simply adding 2 tablespoons, per gallon of water, of white vinegar to your wash water. That will neutralize the pH levels and help maintain the vibrant colors.
